Aqaba Car Hire, Petra and Wadi Rum

Morning all, hope you’re keeping well.

I’m off to Jordan this half term with Mrs Fandango and the two Fangettes, flying Easyjet and staying at the DoubleTree.

Anyone have recommendations/warnings on car hire at Aqaba Airport? I’m planning to drive to Wadi Rum for a desert camp for 1 night and Petra on another day trip, so any recommendations there would be great too. A day of diving might be on the cards too if the sea is a good temperature in Feb!

I absolutely wrecked my Avis car which I picked up at the Dead Sea and drove to Petra and Rum before a beachfront drop off at Aqaba. Not a penny in charges. Would definitely use them again !

Many of the roads are terrible. Expect the worst and do not drive at night.

I wouldn’t drive, terrible roads and those hideous sharp speed control ramps.
