Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Are we being bumped from F?

  • 54 posts

Advice requested please – We have 2-4-1 companion voucher flights to LHR-EWR for Friday in F and when I look at the seating map all 8 seats are taken (as normal with F we selected ours on booking 10 months ago). When I look at availability for cash tickets for our flight on ba website it’s showing as 2 available in F but on a dummy booking when it comes to selecting seats they are all greyed out. Am I to assume from this that ba are trying to sell our 2 seats booked with the voucher? And assuming they sell them we will be bumped?

    You say that

That suggests you chose your seats 10 months the ago.

If you log into the booking on MMB can you still see your allocated seat numbers?

If you can still see your seat numbers then I’d say you have nothing to worry about.

It’s normal for airlines to oversell cabins. It does not necessarily mean that you will be bumped. Other passengers might not show up, cancel their tickets last minute, etc.

I think row 1 in F is still reserved for golds so if you’re not gold they won’t show as being available for selection and will be greyed out.

Thanks, Yes, we can still see our seat numbers in MMB

Thanks @meta and @ba flyer and IHG stayer, I didn’t realise that they also reserved seats in F for golds (We have 1E and 1F but we’re not gold)

    Are you on BA189?

1A and 1K are “blocked” for Golds booking at the last minute. For your flight, they are currently showing on Expert Flyer as blocked, not occupied.

2F is currently showing as available.

So looks like 5 seats of the 8 have been sold.

    Chill.

(On the small 8 seat cabins, only 1A and 1K are blocked. Anyone can reserve 1E and 1F. You may well find 1A and 1K are empty.)
