    For the second time in as many years I bought something at Argos. At checkout I got a chance to link my Nectar card, but it keeps saying “The details supplied are not recognised. Please try again” despite me being able to log into Nectar in the same browser.

    Any tips for debugging? Seems a shame to lose the points even if just a few.

    Be aware that with the new OneID that Nectar/Sainsburys etc are now using your account may be completely broken or the OneID password isn’t working and you may have accounts with mismatched passwords in their eco system

    My Sainsburys, Smartshop and Nectar accounts all have different password despite them claiming OneID is in effect

    So the cause turned out to be the Nectar login form when embedded in the Argos website doesn’t like 1Password pasting in the password, but is fine with it on the Nectar website. About as annoying as forms that disable paste or have password rules.

    Yeah I hate that. Royal Mail claims form for loss/damage explicitly denies pasting in the 13 character Tracking/barcode value.
