Good morning
In April we were flying from Costa Rica to Madrid in business class with Iberia (booked via BA with a companion voucher ) and my husband was downgraded involuntarily. We accepted it as they said we would be refunded.
Neither BA or Iberia will refund the Avios and extra taxes paid. CEDR have ruled that Iberia are responsible as they were the carrier but they just keep referring me back to BA ! It’s driving me mad – I’m going around in circles.
Anyone got any tips or advice on getting the Avios refunded from Iberia ? ( I have a voucher which states that we should get 75% refunded )
Should I just let it go ? It’s taken up so much of my time already 🙁
Iberia are responsible for this, but as you’ve found out, they are very difficult to deal with!
Have you gone back to CEDR and reported that IB are not complying with their decision? A few years ago I had a decision against BA where BA didn’t pay out within the given time frame – I think I could reopen the case or add something to it and the CEDR adjudicator gave BA a bit of a nudge and they did pay up.
Also – did you specify the quantity of avios and cash you were claiming in your submission? You need to be very specific about this.
