Avios flights with partner airlines

Just been (belatedly) reading the article about booking redemption flights with partner airlines. Could someone tell me; if I book an Avios flight with, say, Royal Air Maroc, through the BA website, do I get the same benefits as I would with a redemption on BA? (E.g checked bag and free cancellation?)

It goes off the individual airline’s rules – they usually show on their websites what you can expect in terms of baggage.

Award bookings do usually include a checked bag, but again you’d need to specifically check what Royal Air Maroc gives you.

Also cancellation isn’t free with BA (unless within 24 hours).

OK, thanks. I know about the £35 cancellation fee but frankly that’s minor compared to the potential cost of cancelling a cash ticket, or buying a fully refundable one.
