Back in March I made a couple of bookings on ba.com that would earn 15 Avios per £. The rates were pretty much the same as on hotels.com and others and I prefer the Avios instead of the rewards hotels.com offer. Both stays were completed more than 2 weeks ago but no Avios has been credited yet. Does anyone know how long it normally takes for these Avios to post?
Check the Ts and Cs of the offer – with anything travel related you can wait a long time for the avios to be awarded, 60 days or longer isn’t uncommon.
Of my two most recent transactions, one posted on two weeks while the other took four weeks.
Like you, I find this a very attractive offer. The Avios are always worth more than offers from Hotels.com and are typically more valuable than booking the hotel direct especially as I generally prefer independent hotels that don’t have their own loyalty scheme. It’s a shame that the choice of hotels is quite restricted, and some room types can be unavailable, too.
Thank you @NorthernLass & @jj for your input. Will be patient and see if something happens in the upcoming weeks.
Booked for a destination where there are only independent hotels.
Now I will have to chase BAH for missing bonus Avios for a trip in March and AVIS for 5 car hires done so far this year 😌
Re: 15 avios per pound!
T&C’s say that the avios will be credited within 21 days of checkout however, on a recent booking, I did not receive the avios within 21 days and when I queried it the reply was that they had been overlooked due to a technical problem!
I also have numerous Hotels.com bookings which have not posted the Avios yet, some over 60 days ago. Who do I query this with please?
Have you completed the stays, it’s not clear from your post?

Still no Avios awarded. 35 days since checkout of the last hotel now. Will give it the 60 days before chasing.
@Dave King – if Ts and Cs says 60 days and they still haven’t appeared you might need to chase it up. Did you book via the BA e-shopping portal? I gave up on this ages ago due to regular claw-backs but there used to be an online form to complete to enquire re missing avios. You had to log in to the e-store and access your account to see it.
I’m still waiting from a stay the start of April for a 15:1 Avios booking. Having also had to cancel one other booking for the same trip, not get a proper refund and do an MCOL for the remainder of the booking fees (1 more week to wait for the BA response to that), I am a bit disillusioned about the whole Avios Hotels thing.

Yes, the T&Cs, notably for cancellation, are very restrictive and not made very clear. I recently helped someone sort out a similar problem and like you had a big battle. The 15 Avios is a big lure, but the price is often much higher, terms unfavourable and they are slow to pay so nothing like as good as it seems, but then 15 Avios/£1 looks too good to be true, so caveat emptor.
