Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Avios points revision

So I normally use Avios to upgrade from cash bought PE to Club for transatlantic flights. Does this new change materially affect that redemption? Having just retired and sat on a lot of points saved over the last couple of years would it still be prudent to use them in this way?

    Thanks for your time…

    What new change?

I’mnot aware of any changes to the programme. Could you elaborate?

Do you mean the redemption charges increase? Likely yes some more to pay. You can do two cash bookings, one in PE and one in CW and see the charges for each that way.

Some US flights I looked at, the most significant aspect for CW seemed to be YQ at £500 rather than the previous £400.

The issue is whether charges were also increased on PE tickets. If so, the differential is the same as it always was so it won’t make any difference to the extra you pay.
