Hi, I’m not sure how this has changed recently after the changes and I would be interested to know what the pricing is for someone who has a registered address in UK/US for BAEC (mine is registered in Asia) but see the below for the options I was given.
If going for 85,000 the added fee would be $972 SGD and if choosing to use 62,000 the fee was ‘only’ $1,054 SGD. So, reducing the Avios by 23,000 added only $82 (approx £45).
In not going for the 120,000 Avios and instead choosing 62,000 I used 58,000 fewer Avios but spent and extra $552 SGD (approx £339). I understand there would be personal preferences but does that sound a wise move or not?
In short, check all the Avios plus cash options as the jumps aren’t necessarily logical!
(Plus, does anyone have the figures for same route but from a UK account?)
