Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Avios through BA shopping portal

Something to watch out of for, if you haven’t spotted it already. I always try to use BA shopping partners to collect Avios. However if you use the link to book a hotel on Booking.com, they operate a higher price tier for bookings through that link, than if you just log in the booking.com website. In my case this worked out at 9% more expensive through the BA shopping portal website and its just cheaper to buy Avios than get stung by this hidden dynamic pricing.

Happens all the time, especially with expedia group. Amex offer links, TCB etc.

You just have to look at all routes and be savvy.

That’s been the way many such ‘offers’ have worked for quite a long time, so you always need to check all permutations.

A lot of the card cashback offers require you to use a specific URL link for the same reason, and you may or may not pay the same as you would without the cashback.
