Any advice appreciated. I have a couple of upgrade vouchers from my Avios BA credit card and some Avios (only 120,000 ish). I was hoping to book a rtn flight to BKK from London in May and upgrade, but that seems unrealistic as BA do not fly there apparently and you can’t make bookings that include legs on partner airlines? Then I tried Singapore instead and that isn’t working either but I can’t really work out why.
Is there a number you can call for help with this? I paid quite a lot in monthly credit card charges to get these vouchers and accrue some Avios points but it seems like they’re almost worthless right now. I have two vouchers and I think they expire next Summer so I was keen to use them. I also have VA points but obviously they don’t fly to that part of the world so aren’t much use either.
Any thoughts appreciated, many thanks.
It’s impressive how little due diligence some folks want to do. What is stopping you from reading all the articles and topics already present?

It’s all the folks like OP who have such a loose understanding of the schemes they’re joining who have for many years kept the best value rewards available to those willing to play the game, so we should be thankful for their lack of effort! 😉
It stumps me why people would pay all those charges without even knowing what they’re getting at the end, but yes, all the answers are on this site!
I know it will seem like this is a bit of a pile-on, but to the OP, posting things like “I tried Singapore instead and that isn’t working either but I can’t really work out why” – do you really think folk can use that to come up with a useful answer for you? What would your advice be to someone asking for help if that’s all they told you?
Also your comment about paying a lot of money for these vouchers, as did we all, but most of us took the time to investigate how they work. You don’t just throw money out there and then expect things to happen by magic or for others to do the work for you.
There is availabililty to Singapore pretty much every day Mon-Thur in May. Also quite a bit to Kuala Lumpur. Weirdly nothing coming back though except June 9th from Singapore, Maybe use your voucher outbound and Virgin points inbound, you should be able to find Vietnam Airlines availability quite easily and maybe some Air France / KLM options
Hi Robbie, maybe have a read of https://www.headforpoints.com/2025/01/04/10-tips-for-earning-and-redeeming-avios/ which provides some good info. As per point 5, sites like seatspy.com are useful for looking for availability.
I’m not sure what the issue is as there seem to be plenty of CW seats outbound to SIN in May, OP might just have to return in PE.
As with all things avios, the term to keep in mind is “subject to availability”!
