Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points
Hi
Anybody had a recent experience of Avis car hire in Western Australia where they triggered a charge for excess kilometres? How much did you actually get charged? The website just says “additional kms from 0.30 AUD not including taxes and fees” which is a bit vague. I’m assuming maybe 20p per km would cover it but has anybody got any actual figures?
Cheers
Can you not try to do another booking for the same level car and see what it says about excess miles?
A more expensive/luxury car will probably have a higher excess than .30 I would think.

I am doing a booking for the actual car I want and I know what it says about excess. The problem is that it doesn’t tell me what I will pay because it says “from” and “excluding taxes and fees”. So I don’t know how much the taxes and fees are and the “from 0.30 AUD” might mean that the first 1000km are 0.30 but the next 1000km might be 0.35 etc. I was hoping someone might be able to share an actual invoice which explains the charges in detail.
