I need to pick up a car at Heathrow Avis (T2-4) in a couple of weeks time. I’m going to be dropped off by car, rather than flying in. Am trying to figure out where to jump out the car and grab the bags, without getting some spurious fine. There appears to be a very wide turn about 30m up Northrop Road as the main road bears left, possibly into some kind of overflow lot for Avis.
Does anyone think that would work? It’s then just 150m or so down to Avis. Obviously daft to get driven to T2 as that incurs a £5 fee, more waiting and unnecessary traffic and failing that I guess we’re looking at being dropped at a hotel on Bath Road then walking around half a mile in a big circle as I doubt walking through the Heathrow maintenance depot that seems to sit between Hatton Road and the Avis office would go down very well!
Any thoughts welcome. (Even better if they help answer this question).
I may be mistaken but I do believe what you are seeing on Northrop Road *is* the T2-T3 Avis, I.e. you do not need to go anywhere else.
There is no fine or charge for getting dropped off in this very public access area of the Northern Perimeter road, just pull in to the front area of Avis.
Did the same with Enterprise the other day, which is in a similar location but on the west side.
