Worst lounge awards: Until others suggest otherwise; The winner is Palma, Mallorca with dry sandwiches, empty food platters, dried up sushi without soy sauce and no chop sticks, an unstylish line up of a few spirit bottles on the top of a low bookcase, empty ice bucket the entire time we were there (25 min), old office-type fluorescent lighting throughout to enhance the hand types WC signs stuck on walls with sticky tape.
Worst yet; and this was the lounge for BA business class (as well as priority pass). A joke. And took 25 min to walk there. I have photos. CYou’ll have to try harder than that for worst lounge.
Anybody,? 🙂
Which one were you in? I was in the Ryanair side of PMI and the lounge, basic was miles apart from the zoo that was the terminal. Not 40e entry good but it was perfectly fine with few bits here and there. PMI has 3x PP lounges.
@zapato, you’ve now got me contemplating a Ryanair lounge where each F & B item would cost £7.99, as would, of course, use of the loos 😂
Went to Palma lounge last June. Wasn’t great but it’s certainly not the worst, that accolade goes to Marrakech without shadow of a doubt. The BA one, not the other one.
Atlanta airport is worthy of a mention.
BA First class (shared with the whole world) – food extremely limited, poor service, closes early.
My OH would probably nominate NCE (non-Schengen PP lounge). He was driving at the other end, so couldn’t have a drink, and the only food was cheese and crackers, which he hates, and individually wrapped madeleines (also not his thing). It was a very pleasant space for all that!
I would have said the swissport jail cell that Aer Lingus used to use at O’Hare but thankfully they’ve moved terminals at last.
Windowless room, seats for 8, no food apart from stuff like biscuits and salty snacks, some canned drink and a powerpoint presentation playing on the TV with accompanying elevator music.
Worst lounge provision, or rather lack of, must be GCM. There is a teeny weeny lounge but it’s only for elite Cayman Airways pax. So even if you’re flying on a £3k BA CW ticket, you have to buy your own pre-flight refreshments (from Subway or Wendy’s!), as even the $15 F & B voucher they used to give you was enhanced away after the pandemic.

Ooh I know it. Pretty bad yes.
I will die on a hill with my claim that Tirana is the worst. Unbeatably bad.
I stand firm with my claim for Marseille. The only time I’ve ever preferred to sit in the terminal.
Shoebox lounge at catania is my nomination
I’ll nominate Ambassador Transit Lounge in Singapore (T1) and Al Maha Lounge in Doha, some of the worst lounges that spring to mind.
Zanzibar Abeid Amani Terminal 2
Absolutely shockingThe marhaba and the horizon lounges (I think they are bothSwiss port run lounges) at Geneva are terrible.
Poor food, dirty and the tables and chairs are shabby.
I second the nomination for NCE (Library VIP Lounge?) as Europe’s worst!
Also ended up in EWR’s “Art & Lounge” a few years back which was even worse – luckily looks like that is permanently close now.
Overall worst through has to be the Serenediva Lounge at CMB! The highlight was free water bottles…

oh no, I’ll be flying to Geneva next month..

Poor you, they really are rubbish!
There’s a new lounge that’s also run by Swiss port at Geneva, it’s after passport control, it’s clean and tidy and not dated as the two above, but it’s still the same poor food though. But, it’s clean and the air conditioning was working unlike the other two the last time I was in them

Is this the Club at ATL? Food has always been bad, but I did like sitting at the bar. Completely overrun last June, but that has been my experience at most US lounges.
