Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA 241 to FTV help please

  • 29 posts

    Good evening,

I’m just about to cancel a 241 booking, however the page says we’ll either issue you and e-voucher or a FTV.

So is there no guarantee I will get a FTV.

I’m really confused and just want to make sure I’m doing this correctly.

If anyone can confirm is this is correct, that would be great, as I can’t see how I specifically ask for an FTV.

    Thank you.

Actually an e-voucher would be preferable as you could then use it online, but these are not issued for 241/avios bookings so you will get a FTV which you will have to call to redeem.

Okay, fantastic, thank you for your help.

Do I have to cancel the flight, then apply for the voucher?
Or by applying for the voucher does it automatically cancel the flight?

You use the “Covid 19” link on the BA home page and select the option to request a voucher, then add your booking reference. Only valid for travel before the end of August though.

If I claim a FTV for my Chennai flight on 2nd March, what happens to the balance of costs and Avios when I use it for a cheaper flight. Assuming I get another FTV with the credit balances can I use this with another 2 4 1 voucher in the future? Do I continue to get balance FTV’s until I have used my balance or need to pay extra if the balance is not sufficient.
Alternatively, how do I get a refund instead. Can’t seem to find a number or web page to do this.

To extend a 241 I booked a flight with avios and 241, then simply waited a few days and cancelled the booking through ‘manage my booking’ on the website. I received a FTV email valid until 30 SEP 23 without doing anything else. I presume that my 241 remains alive while it is wrapped in this FTV.

Does anyone know if you have a FTV containing a 241 if it can then be combined with a second 241 (not in a FTV) when it comes to book.

    Same owner for both vouchers.

Just not sure I want to tie up the 4th name yet (3 would be certain)

@Chavonoz you get the remaining cash and Avios returned to you once you use a FTV on a booking.
