Morning all…
About to fly on a BA 789 in Club – 2 adults and 1 child. Would it be best to choose 13DEF or 10DEF (based on what is available) – 13E has the benefit of unhindered aisle access but is the last row of the cabin, and the DF would have others stepping over you whilst sleeping but I am wondering with nobody stepping over you in 10DF if that mitigates the lack of unhindered aisle access for 10E?
Its all a first world problem of course but I would welcome any opinions!
Thanks
13 DEF risks an infant in WTP row 16 at the bassinet position.
I’d definitely go for row 13, especially if the child is going in the middle and would have to do the stepping over. Risk of infant in WTP is limited as they tend to use the outside pairs first, 10EF are right behind the toilet which is far worse imho. There’s also a (lower) risk of infants in 10B or J.
I was in WTP overnight on Friday, at OLCI there was still the option to move from the back (window) row to the middle front row. Decided against it and was relieved to have done so as there was indeed a very noisy infant at the bassinet position! It does seem a very popular cabin for pax with infants, which gives even more impetus to my future avoidance of night flights!
We did 13DEF in May, they were the perfect seats. When you have a (young-ish) child, other babies crying don’t bother you.
Lol, when they get older you’re just relieved it’s not yours any more!

I think you might just have been unlucky. Maybe it’s different with tourist routes in holidays, but flying WTP for work I often pick the non-bassinet bulkhead seat if it’s free and I’ve yet to get my seat switched for an infant. Flying for holidays in CW, I’ve seen more loud sprogs there than in WTP.
