I am planning to get the BA Amex for the 60k Avios bonus and cancel it 3 months later.
Will I have to pay the entire £300 yearly fee, or is it pro-rated like the Amex Platinum card used to be?
You pay it upfront but you can (at least for now) still get a pro-rata refund when you cancel.
If you can spend £6k in 3 months, surely worth keeping the card a few months longer to get to £15k, to earn the companion voucher?
The additional few months’ worth of card fees are well worth the avios you will save by using the voucher, not to mention, the additional availability that is opened up by the voucher.
