Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club BA Amex Premium Plus companion voucher – do I need an Amex card to pay???

Another newbie question, do I need an Amex card to pay for the taxes etc? I haven’t got one as cancelled mine when I got my divorce. If Yes, then is Amex gold (free for 1 year) the best one?

You do need an Amex to pay taxes, there is also the free BA card. Maybe someone else who is more knowledgeable than me on sign up bonuses etc etc can give more info

Yes, any Amex card. If you cancelled more than 2 years ago you’ll qualify for the bonus on the Gold, but even so the benefits such as lounge passes would make that the best option. Just remember to cancel before the end of the 1st year if you don’t want to pay the fee.

If you don’t qualify for the gold card you can try the basic MR card.
