Question about the pro rata refund on the BA amex premium plus card. Thanks in advance.
Does this mean after feb 29;
A) all BA Amex PP cards will no longer be able to get the pro rata refund of unused months?
Or
B) any new cards approved after feb 29 wont have the option to do pro rata refunds?
My situation:
I am about 5k away on the free amex BA and want to know if there is any rush to upgrade this card to the BA Amex PP card before feb 29.
A) is correct. After 29 Feb (or could be later if they change their minds) there will be no pro-rata refunds on BAPP cards. This is already in the written terms and conditions and was due to take effect from 12 October but has been unofficially postponed.
It’s worth noting that the BAPP hasn’t had an annual fee increase since Sep 2021 whereas the Platinum card has had one increase and the Gold card has had two increases in that time. You will pay whatever the fee is at the date you upgrade whereas existing holders will be protected from the increase for a while.
@JDB Those who have the grandfathered BAPP, are they still getting it free?

No, that was stopped a few years ago.
