BA and Saudia interline agreements?

Hi guys, just wondered if anyone may have had some knowledge if BA and Saudia have interline agreements. I am self connecting in London from Saudi with Saudia and going up to EDI with BA. Separate bookings, but could ask at Jeddah if they can tag bags at destination which is Edinburgh.

I would say zero chance.

Not only is this a separate ticket they are also now in OW.

BA has an interline agreement with fairly much every other IATA airline, including Saudia. Whether they will check your luggage through to BA is a different question – they have the ability to do so (even when part of another alliance) but it requires both a willingness and knowledge of how to do it. We have interlined baggage with Aerolíneas Argentinas, Thai and Aeromexico (all with separate tickets) on to BA flights with no problem. You just need to ask, but if they say no because they don’t know how or can’t be bothered, there’s no obligation on them to assist you.

I’ve interlined to BA from various airlines, most full service airlines will do it. But you’ve no way to guarantee it so it’s one of those things that’s worth asking about and a nice bonus if they do, but plan to collect/recheck

When is your trip? I’ve got a trip to KSA next month, also on separate BA and Saudia bookings, but the outbound only. I think I’ve got even less than 0% chance BA will send my luggage to my final destination, but will ask anyway!

BA absolutely will not send through on seperate tickets. They don’t even offer it on seperate BA flights unless the system accidently matches them together

I am flying this month. No harm asking, but I am flying Saudia > LHR > EDI with domestic BA on a separate ticket.
