BA Avios from Qatar flights – booking via BA vs Qatar

Random Q – i have read the article about reduced avios flying Qatar and putting in your BAEC number to get them added to your BA Account. My question is whether there is a difference on the amount of avios earned if you book flights on Qatar metal using BA.com vs booking the flights via Qatar and putting in your BAEC number?

If you have status with one scheme it will be different.

Apart from that you need to check by the sub-class of ticket (non flex Eco, semi-flex Eco, flex Eco, non flex Bus etc).

Good point – forgot the subtleties around the class of fare, status etc. Prioritising tier points over avios at the moment so will book via BA if i can find the flights (to get the BA Amex uplift) otherwise will need to book via Qatar and see what happens
