I have flights on an AMEX 241 companion voucher from LHR to BKK. It’s been 3 months since it was announced that BA were cancelling this route. I would like to re-book on Qatar. Do I just wait…
I would double check on manage my booking that it hasn’t already been cancelled – BA can be hit and miss about how quickly they inform you. As a cancellation is probably inevitable, it’s worth waiting until they actually cancel the trip, as it gives you the ideal leverage to rebook on QR.
BA process these in order of flight date. Their standard policy is to book onto QR.
This isn’t just a normal cancel and rebook situation as instead of a single direct flight they have to rebook you onto two QR flights and that’s not a simple or quick process.
And as Harry says check MMB to see if the cancellation is highlighted there as sometimes cancellation and rebooking emails don’t get produced for some reason.
