BA Blue card 241 companion voucher received in error?

Hi all,

Recently cancelled by BA Blue card. Shortly after cancelling, received a congratulations email to say I’ve qualified for the 241 companion voucher.

Thought nothing of it the card was dormant for a few months and therefore I would not have met the required spend to trigger it.

However, it landed in my BA Executive account with the usual one year validity (July 2026).

I’m not sure if it was a goodwill gesture from Amex (unlikely as I see no reason why it would be).

However, if I managed to use it to book reward flights with it – could this be revoked after if Amex got wind of it?

Anyone else been in a similar situation?
