Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA booked, Qatar flight – slightly off topic – Wow conflict

  • 1 post

I don’t know where to post this and but it is slightly related. Booked Man – Doha – Phuket through BA but it is Qatar planes. I have had nothing but problems in the 4 months since booking. Keeping it brief, flight changes, seat changes, trying to book special meals etc

Everytime i spoke to BA and with regards seats/meals etc they said speak to Qatar. Qatar said speak to BA. Both blamed each other with no results

It is a Business ticket and our seats have been moved 4 times in 4 months.

Now at the airport flying tomorrow and been to see Qatar office and their comments were……well BA would say that wouldn’t they

I have found Qatar telephone service rubbish and BA better thought longer to get hold of

Lesson here……don’t book with one airline using a different one

You should have just downloaded Qatar app or select seats/meals via Qatar website or if there is an issue another OW airline such as Finnair. You do not need to call and clog the lines just for that. It’s all online. Never had such issues.

Or simply just log onto QR website and manage it all there. As @Meta says, we have been dealing w QR for years in J, and it’s always been great. In fact we have booked again via BA on QR from DUB to HKT in Jan. Which is all managed on their site. We too have had several time and seat changes, but that’s the way it is. QR have always been known to change plane up to 4 times, before we flew. So we had seat changes all the time. And some were paid flights also. And often ex EU, so we had to allow for positioning too. But, it’s possible to do on line.
Price you pay for cheaper fares, and the flexibility avios flights give us all.
BA have also put us on QR J from HKG to LHR later this month, already 3 time changes.

So l say the opposite, great to be able to book QR via BA. Of course it’s better if you can get a BA flight, but not always possible.
