is it normal for availability to show up on a normal rewards seat booking but not be available when using my 2 for 1 voucher?
Not usually – what are you trying to book and for how many people?
The companion voucher can only be used on certain airlines, so various partner options will disappear when searching Web the companion voucher.
@northernlass @travelmonkey just trying to book cape town for one person using the voucher. there is availability in normal reward bookings but not when using my companion voucher and of course through BA
Are you sure there’s award availability both ways? What date is this for? Which cabin? There’s very little CW availability generally for CPT because those seats tend to get snapped up as soon as they’re released.
Just checking as well, which 241 do you have – from the BAPP or the free Amex?
Be careful: due to BA’s cr@p IT the redemption (Avios) search always defaults to using the 2-4-1 voucher for TWO passengers. Make sure you select 2-4-1 for ONE passenger. It’s possible that only one reward seat is available on the days you are searching for.
Additionally the various search screens forget what you’ve previously searched for and default to today’s date / one-way / economy – TOTAL CR@P!!!
