Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA Companion Voucher – lead passenger misses flight – what happens?

  • 4 posts

I know the terms of using the BA companion voucher are very clear – the voucher holder must travel with the companion at all times. However, what would happen if the voucher holder and companion have both checked in for the outbound flight but the voucher holder does not manage to actually board? The main voucher holder though would be able to board the return flight! I know its a strange question but it is a possibility I could face as due to an important work commitment I may miss the outbound flight, in which case if this happened I would just use another airline to obtain a ‘cheap’ single ticket to my destination and then return as already booked with BA. So two questions really: 1) would my companion still be able to board without me physically being there?
    2) would I be able to resume the return journey even though I missed the outbound flight.
Many thanks and I hope that makes sense!

If you don’t take your outbound flight you won’t be able to take the inbound. Your companion will be able to do the return flight however.
