Hi I’m preparing to book flights but the ones we have our eye on are going to be released on Saturday, 1am in the morning. It seems the contact numbers for Australia are closed at the weekend, and the US office closes at 1am.
Anyone have advice?
This is the website I’m checking: https://www.britishairways.com/travel/contact-executive-club/execclub/_gf/en_gb
I’ve never done this, but if you don’t get any answers here, it’s definitely discussed in the VERY long “How to book the return at T-355” thread, if you have time to read it!
Yes I would study that thread as it is where I got my info from.
If you want to do on phone on Saturday then you’ll need to try the US number. Just note that you need to be connected to an agent by 0055 UK time or you will get cut off with a message saying the office is closed. So you need to try a little before then, hope you get through in time and then hope the agent will hang around to deal with your request. Recent experience seems pretty patchy calling up so, if you can, I’d be prepared to try and book online at 1am. If the flights are high demand then you’ll need to click through to payment very fast and keep your fingers crossed so I’d advise you ensure:-
– You have the booking page open and pre-populated ready to click “Get flights” as soon as clock ticks over to 1am (just a word of warning from personal experience – I had two booking pages open in the hope to try two routes at same time but then got an error as it noted I had more than one tab open so make sure you only have it open once!)
– You have all details for your fellow travellers on your BA account (then you can just click these from drop-down menu)
– You have your credit card saved on your account so you don’t need to add in these details
It would be worth having a trial run or two in advance so you know the process and can check that the fellow traveller details and credit card info is there. If you have all the info already on your account then I think it’s easily possible to get through to submitting payment in 15-20 seconds so even a phone agent would need to be very fast to beat you!
I did have to call to book my return flights as didn’t have enough Avios to do as a separate booking but my success was phoning Australian number on a weekday (you end up connecting to the Indian call centre).
Good luck!
