Discuss today's stories:
@JDB that is indeed a strong selection. It’s been three years since I flew First, perhaps I’m a bit out of touch. I’d certainly be happy with those.
That’s a very solid selection, 2010 was one of the best & most expensive Bordeaux vintages in living memory. BA will have purchased these en primeur in Spring 2011 though so a very different era pre Cruzification.
Was it 2019 when they got slaughtered by Jancis for serving £5/bottle Villa Maria in First & wouldn’t look at anything over £6 cellar door price?
To be fair, at least they have recently appointed a dedicated wine consultant again (Tim Johnson MW) though my excitement was tempered when BA were hailing the introduction of Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc in First in the press releases. It’s a nice everyday drinker but not remotely special & is a price point (£15 from supermarket) that should be served in CW.

Dog Point is a great producer though – their aged release chardonnay at £35-40 retail would easily go for 2-3x if you slapped a Burgundy label on it.
