Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA – flexibility after 25 July regime ends (and Avios change fee waiver)

    “More flexibility for Heathrow customers
If you’re due to fly from Heathrow on or before 25 July 2022, you can change to another British Airways flight in the next 12 months free of charge, subject to availability. ”

I’ve got some short haul flights booked – from 26th July – I’d like to move. All are Avios redemptions. Most to/from LCY not LHR.

    1. Anyone hearing that this flexi policy might be extended beyond 25th July?

    2. Regardless, are they actually enforcing the to/from LHR condition – so LCY would be excluded from the waiver anyway?

    3. Or are they waiving fees on RFS/Avios flight changes anyway – so I’m good to change them anyway? An agent said this but I can’t find it in their policy. Every time I call I seem to get a different answer!

    Many thanks
[EDIT: Meant to post this is “Flight Changes” forum – MODS: please move if appropriate – guess it’s half-relevant here too!]

The Telegraph reported that Heathrow have told airlines to expect the capacity constraints to last until 29 October but the cap on movements will increase to “1,100 from July 11 to Aug 31, 1,150 from Sept 1 to Sept 30 and 1,200 from Oct 1 to Oct 29”, so there’s a chance but it’s up to BA.

Heathrow flight limits to continue until after October half-term

The flexibility was basically to cover the first two weeks of the cap and help BA manage that short notice change.

The cap will be baked into the booking engine now so passenger numbers restricted so less need to offer flexibility.

We can hope but I wouldn’t put much faith into it.
