Hi folks,
First time poster – apologies if this was covered elsewhere…
Have always booked flights and hotel separate – but in an effort to maximise tier points booked a Flight + Hotel for the first time (in WTP JFK return from LHR) using the Flight+Hotel option on BA.com.
As it’s seems to appear as a travel agent booking, there’s no Upgrade option via the app/web and the quoted price over the phone is vast. Ordinarily, as there are often a lot of spare seats, a WTP->CW upgrade was <£400.
Curious as to the experience/likelihood/ability to bag a cheap-ish upgrade either at online checkin or at the airport / lounge?
Thanks
Yes that is the biggest downside of a BAH booking. The phone upgrade cost is the regular fare difference plus change fee, no access to the favourable POUG offers.
Your chances of an airport upgrade are exactly the same as with a flight only booking. If there are plenty of spare seats then the price will be good, but if they’re all gone then they’re gone.
