BA Gold member travelling on QR in economy BKK-LHR

Hi

Travelling BKK-DOH-LHR tomorrow on QR in economy cash ticket booked via BA on BA flight numbers but QR metal

As a gold member will I get access to QR lounge at BKK if they have one ? Do they have a first lounge or just business ?

What are BKK like for comp upgrades for elite and do they ever consider blocking seat next to in Y if available

Flown Cathay a few times in Y get great service

Advice / experience shared would be appreciated

https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges Is your best bet. Usually QR lounges are only for those flying in business/first (BKK seems to follow those rule) and status traveller are directed elsewhere, I can’t remember if Cathay or Japan lounges were in the same terminal but they would allow you.

They’ll direct you to the Miracle lounge IIRC but you can avail of the Cathay or JAL lounge if they’re open. None are particularly amazing so I wouldn’t hike about the airport!

Looking at tomorrow the early hrs and morning flight are full in both classes, the two night flights are full in biz but quiet in economy to Doha. Doha-LHR looks busy busy as always!

Thanks for advice , flight from BKK-DOH is 95% full however seat next to me is empty so whether this is to do with status or luck not sure

Other gold or elite members sitting nearby as purser was introducing themselves , they were not so lucky as there rows full.

Thanks for help , DOHA-LHR flight seat next to me was empty so very happy all in all… used the Cx lounge at BKK and the plat lounge at DOHA
