So, after coming to terms with missing out on any chance of a status renewal, I have a last minute requirement to head to the middle east. I could book this as a BA holiday, and if I did, chances are the outbound would fall into this tier point year, and maintain my grey status for another 13 months, avoiding a soft descent into the brown layer. The return leg would fall into the following “collection” year. Question:
– I expect the normal TPs to appear in the BAEC account a day or so after the flights, but the bonus TPs, are they applied to the BAEC account at the same time, or the end of the “holiday”?
My tier points have been taking 3 days to appear recently and my double points were close to 10 days, can’t remember exactly.
This isn’t an obscure question at all and it’s been asked and answrred several times in the double TP thread.
Remember BA will honour TPs earned on the 2 weeks following your end of year.
So if your year finishes on the 8 Jan and you fly from the 10th to the 15th somewhere you can ask them to sum those TPs to the previous year.
With the double TPs it should be the same. It is not when you see them but when you flew that matters.
