BA have cancelled the return flight from MLA (checked no longer listed on schedule). Was booked as a holiday package for APR, the email received has rebooked us on the flight a day earlier, however no mention of amending the hotel stay therefore over paying on that element now. Also annoying as already booked hotel parking etc.
As BA cancelled the flight, it seems we can call and rebook, and even if we leave it as is will have to call and have the hotel amended. Is there anything else we should be aware of/do when calling?
Your rights are different from a straight flight cancellation when a holiday, or part of one, has been cancelled (there was a long discussion about this on here a few weeks ago and I’m still not entirely clear in my own mind what the situation is). For the sake of one night, though, I think I would just go with the amended booking and claim back the extra hotel night via BA or insurance when you get back. Alternatively, if you wanted a longer holiday you could call BA and ask to be moved to a later flight and pay any extra hotel costs.
