Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA Holidays earning rate on BAPP?

  • 371 posts

Just got an email from Amex telling me that, for a limited time, BA Holidays will earn me 3 Avios per £1 spent. (Offer is available for new bookings made between 28 February 2022 and 21 March 2022 (“Promotional Period”) for holidays completed up to and including 30 November 2022.)

I thought it always did anyways?

Does this “promotion” mean they are removing BA Holidays from the 3 Avios per £1 category moving forward?

I was about to post this question. I thought any spend on BA using your BAPP card would always get you 3 avios per £1?

3 per £ is only standard on the BAPP I think – so this is really only going to benefit the free card holders by the look of it.

I was also confused by this, but having clicked through to the BA landing page, is has this wording:
‘If you book by 21 March, for travel before 30 November 2022, you’ll collect 3 Avios per £1 spent on your trip – that’s in addition to the Avios on the flight element and the Avios you will collect on your British Airways American Express Card.’
So it looks like these are indeed additional Avios, as suggested within the final few words of the above. Unless I’ve misunderstood it?!

This email is hugely confusing and we’re covering it tomorrow.

What is tripled is the 1 Avios per £1 you get from BA Holidays.

This offer has NOTHING to do with the ‘double Avios on your BAPP when spending at BA Holidays’ offer.
