Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club BA Household Accounts – pros and cons

  • 623 posts

Hi, am asking here as with the busy Xmas period didnt want a long wait and the occupying BA customer services rep when people travelling would need to get through.

I’m considering opening a BA household one – I’ll be the lead.

Had a few questions hope informed flyers could help with –

Each member can book Avios reward flights from the account? Or does the lead need to book it for them?

How are redeemed Avios split between members?

How do BAPP and Barclaycard vouchers (earned by various members) integrate with household account?

Can I/we redeem Avios flight on Qatar-Iberia-Aer Lingus- AA using Household account?

Are there any other pros or cons to be aware of?

    Thank you in advance.

    Any member can book

They are taken pro rata from all the individual accounts

No idea on vouchers but I think they remain with the person who earned them and on,y they can use them

Being in a HHA has no impact if booking via BA on those airlines as long as there is availability.

    Vouchers stay on earned account.

Can only book for those on 5 friends and family list if you have hha and can only add remove 1 every 6 months.

    It works for us..
