Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA IT Hamster whereabouts?

    We’re due to fly to Madeira next Monday morning and, following checking, I decided to complete the Madeira Safe online to ensure I covered most eventualities-although I’m also reading elsewhere it’s no longer mandatory. We’re both fully jabbed.
    However, I need seat numbers for flight out for MS.
    Therein lies the issue.
    On logging into MMB-which took absolutely ages-we are offered free seat selection but the screen only shows the first 8 rows and won’t move further down. I’ve logged out, re-logged in and same issue. It’s an A320 which Aerolopa shows has 12 CE rows. How on earth am I supposed to reserve seats I can’t select on screen? What the blazes is the matter with BA IT?
    Should I just make up 2 seats for the MS requirements?
    Anyone been there recently and can confirm the MS is not needed please? My wife gets very nervous about travel documentation and I need to ease the stress.
    Nevertheless I think I can still check in online without selecting seats-trying to avoid possible queueing.
    Thank you.

    It’s only 8 rows (it’s up to 12 on A320, the curtain moves based on demand). Just checked and only pairs available are 8A/B or D/F

    Disclaimer: The Government of the Autonomous Region of Madeira does not prevent any passengers who don’t have a Madeira Safe account to enter Madeira.

    It is purely a recommendation now, not complusory.
    We are going to Madeira next week. From what I have read there are no testing, jabbing or paperwork requirements to enter.
    Just fingers crossed the weather will be warm enough to sit by the pool !

    @SamG Thank you for the info. Ive looked again and no scrolling down would seem to confirm only 8 rows but my screen indicates all 8 rows fully booked – maybe I should assume we’re in there somewhere! But, given it’s BA, that makes my eyebrows curl!

    @StanTheMan
    Again thank you for responding. Yes I saw the recommendation so I will just convince the good lady that we go with the flow, rock up, check in, see what we get and carry a few masks in case of need. Certainly looking forward to chilling out and seeing a few sights.

    Can’t hurt to pack a few masks for sure. Sounds like they will def be needed on the flight. The MS form says it can be edited at a later stage. So pick a random pair of seats, then check MMB over the weekend – when it updates to show your actual seats, you can amend your MS form as needed.
