Bit of advice please . I recently received an email from BA advising that I have 2 vouchers to use – with the correct amounts . However I also have another voucher which I used to pay off a BA holiday and then received an email advising that there was £120 remaining and that a new voucher wouldn’t be issued and that the email was the voucher. I still have this email – wondering how best to rectify this…? Would you wait until you have something you want to book or raise now..? And if so , how best to do this? (I’m thinking better to resolve now as anticipate there may be issues with this..?)Thanks

Are all vouchers now valid till Sep 23? I think the BA holiday email vouchers are completely separate from the evouchers so it could just be that the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing. I’m sure you could wait till you’re ready to use it, though people have reported on here that they’ve had different experiences of what they’ve been allowed to use it for. You should be ok with a new cash booking, but if you want to redeem it against surcharges on an award booking you may need to do the email equivalent of HUACA!

The £120 remaining is attached to the original BA holiday booking reference it originated from. Isn’t the booking ref in this email?

BA hols vouchers are totally separate from flight only e- vouchers which explains why they weren’t listed on the recent email.

Thanks – I did wonder if I was expecting too much that the IT system could track this . I’m happy to use for either flights or a BA hol but can just imagine trying to use and having a computer says No situation. However I’ve just reread the email and it says to just reply quoting any new booking reference number and it will be applied so maybe I was worrying about nothing!

The reason I was querying is that this wasn’t/ isn’t a BA holiday voucher as it didn’t initially come from a BA holiday – it was an evoucher from cancelled flights that was partially used to pay off a holiday- which I’m hoping doesn’t mean that I’m now restricted to using it on a holiday only….

Hi Keely, as I mentioned above, people have had varying experiences with the email vouchers, it seems to depend on who gets the email. I had no issues using £1500 worth of these vouchers to pay the surcharges on new avios bookings last year, but other people reported that their requests were refused on the grounds that the vouchers can only be used for new cash bookings. There was some success with simply re-sending the email and it being answered by a different agent! The best strategy seems to be just to send your new booking reference with your reply and not to go into any more detail.
