**************************Read the T&Cs regarding your BA Prepaid Mastercard.*********************************

There is a spending limit every calendar month on your prepaid card. If you have a spending limit of your own money say £2.500 and you have spend at £2000 by the middle of the month, you only have £500 left until the beginning of the next calendar month.

Imagine stuck abroad with loads of cash on the card and you can’t withdraw from the ATM or spend your own money you have transferred onto the Prepaid card?…Shocking!!!!

BA will not increase your limit and if you wish to have the remaining cash transferred back to your main card, you have to pay a £5.00 charge, wait 3 days and the prepaid card will be closed by BA.

MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR SPENDING LIMIT IS. DON’T GET CAUGHT OUT. THAT IS THE CATCH WITH THE AVIOS POINTS YOU GET.

Should always read the T&Cs of every financial product that you use and assess whether it works with your lifestyle and spending plans.

I can’t see myself being “stuck” abroad with no other means of payment than a pre-paid Mastercard with “only” £500 remaining.

Although there’s bound to be someone sad-faced in the paper who’s been left at Gatwick as they didn’t check their Passport expiry, their wife has disappeared abroad with kids, house keys, car keys, ID, wallet, mobile, and all they’ve got left is a pre-paid Mastercard with £500 on to pay for a Gatwick hotel for a fortnight until the family comes home.

You should always read the T&C of any account you open.

While, typically, most people don’t. Prepaid cards are known to have topup and spend limits as well as fees for items most banks won’t charge for.

Checking the Fee Schedule and Topup limits is literally the first thing you should do with a prepaid card.
