Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA refund / cancellation policy for new booking at Feb half term

  • 23 posts

    Hi All.

BA had a ‘Book with confidence’ guarantee recently but it doesn’t appear when looking for return flights LHR-DXB 14-20th Feb approx.

Is this no longer in place for new bookings please?

Ticket conditions state no refunds except for government taxes.

Seems risky to pay ££££ for a non-refundable flight at the moment.

If anyone could confirm the current refund policy I’d be grateful.

    Thank you!

Book with confidence is overarching, not flight specific.

You’re covered for Feb 22 travel, all details here:
    https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/incident/coronavirus/flexible-booking

Need to cancel your flight booking?

You can claim a voucher to the value of your booking, valid for travel until 30 September 2023, if:

You booked from 3 March 2020 onwards for travel due to be completed by 31 August 2022.

Vouchers can be used as payment, or part payment, for a future booking. Your new trip booked with your voucher must be fully completed by 30 September 2023 (departure and return). You will receive your voucher by email within seven days of your application.

Am I correct in thinking that Book with Confidence doesn’t cover the (now dead) Lloyds voucher?

You have to contact avios.com for anything to do with the Lloyds voucher, so BWC doesn’t apply. Reports vary but I had no problems getting them to change the date and destination of a flight a few months ago when I was put off travelling to the original destination by the covid rules in place at that point.
