For several weeks now, I have been doing my weekly Sainsbury’s on-line grocery shopping via BA Shopping and successfully collecting Avios points.
However, on my two most recent attempts last week and yesterday doing exactly what I always do, when logging out of BA Shopping after placing my Sainsbury’s order, I get the message ” Oops! You may have pressed the back button, refreshed during login, or there is some issue with your browser cookies since we couldn’t find your session. Try logging in again from the application.” I’ve never seen this message before. For both these orders, no pending points appear on my account and I have not received the “Your Avios are on the way” email.
Coincidentally, I have noticed two new security features during the BA Shopping login; the need to type in a captcha code and a two factor authentication code sent to my mobile. So not sure if there is a connection with the above issue.
Is anyone else having the same problem?
Consider yourself grateful. I’ve not been able to get access since 2FA came in. I always get a browser area (irrespective of which browser used) on my laptop after trying to confirm 2FA. Makes no difference whether I use SMS or a fingerprint.
I got in via SMS but not fingerprint.
It directed me by default to the US site, so I changed the end of the URL to en-UK instead of en-US. Haven’t tried making any purchases yet since the changes though.
The login for this portal has been tempremental for months, so hopefully with a few more tweaks it can become reliable. Perhaps this is what BAs new 200 IT staff have been working on!
Well, surprise, surprise – overnight, two “your Avios are on the way” emails arrived in my inbox for the two Sainsbusy’s orders I’d placed recently and are showing as pending in my account. So the “Ooops ….” message in my original post seems not to relate to a tracking problem.
As suggested on the other thread….Logging in with my BAEC number instead of email seems to work.

That’s funny because for several months around this summer, I could only log in with email and not my BA number.
