Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club BA to Dubai – 777 v a380 Business Class

  • 43 posts

In your opinion which is the better for travelling business class. Having never travelled business class I want to work out which is the better option for the return leg. I don’t really want the night flight which is a380 as I want to enjoy the business class experience and not just sleep through it. I get the business class sleeping experience is tons better but I don’t really care about that. More the food etc!

Chose flights based on schedule rather than what plane is allcoated months in advance and they can and do change.

We were changed from the 777 to the A380. Departure was scheduled about 12.30 pm – though we were delayed nearly 4 hours in the end, which seems to be not uncommon these days! The upper deck was amazing – you can search online for reviews of the best seats, but IIRC I had 53A. It’s the most personal space I’ve ever had on a flight and better than CS, IMO. However, I’d go for a day flight in any CW seat over a night flight.

Plenty of articles like this on the internet:

F & B can be quite underwhelming though, so keep your expectations on the low side, lol.

Best advice there is. Even if it shows a plane 2 hours before take off things can change. Been there done that and got kicked out of my row 2 CS seats on an A350 to some mid cabin CW seats on a 777 I was gold, so you’d think I’d be given my row 2 of CW back atleast if not the Flub they opened up but nope.

Exactly this, can only echo other comments, I recently flew to Dubai and back on the overnight flights, best schedule for me to maximise time there whilst reducing time taken off. Outbound was 777 but that changed twice within 24 hours of departure, so lost my original seat assignment but didn’t matter in the end as it went from CS>CW>CS. Point is, aircraft can change right at the last minute, don’t book on aircraft type but times/price.

It’s personal preference. I prefer the lying yang seats with the kids but there is not denying cs is the better seat just less convenient.

As others say, just go by your schedule requirements not plane type.

Last year I should have been on a380, a350 and b787 with ba. Ended up being 777 every time.

The whole a380 fleet has so many seat problems I wouldn’t worry about it. If you get a faulty seat you’ll get the cash equivalent back in Avios.
