Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club BA WT+ A380 v B777?

  • 26 posts

    Hi all, looking at a family trip to LA in late October, no club availability for our dates unfortunately (even with 241 and looking at starting in the shires) so looking to book 4x WT+.
    Have the option of A380 v B777, was erring towards A380 as there is probably a greater chance of club seats being made available at a later date but wanted to check this is a sensible thing to do?

    Thanks in advance.

    I’ll give my standard advice and book based on schedule times not what plane might operate a flight either now or in months times.

    How many seats were you searching for with the 241? It will only show the extra availability for 2. If you did want to travel from the regions, you might still find 2 x CW plus 1 x WTP, unless that doesn’t appeal!

    *I have just mentally re-named my local airport Manchestershire 😂

    Always avoid B777s, go A380.

    For some Scots, all the area below the wall is known as Englandshire 😉

    If you search for 2 from the regions, you may see extra CW availability.

    BA only guarantee 2 x PE so you may not get any more than that.

    If you went to NYC then got a connecting flight to LAX you’re pretty much guaranteed 4 x CW both ways.

    @freckles
    , that sounds quite benign 😂

    Point of order.

    For many southerners anywhere north of Watford is Scotland ( said in the same jest )

    Just flew CW to Joburg on an A380, and back on a 777. Your advice is wrong for that route.

    @miserablegit I’m glad your flight JNB-LHR was good for you.
