Hi
Flying to Rio in 48hrs. Club. We are on BAPP 2-4-1.
There are two of us.
We have no status.
There are two seats left in Club sat nowhere near each other.
Looks like a passenger swap would involve a single passenger giving up their Window seat and switching to Aisle.
Flight looks busy.
I am concerned if we don’t take these two seats, and issue boarding passes, that we risk getting bumped down if they overbook.
What would you do, take the bad seats, and hope they can move them at the airport/on the flight?
Does risk of getting bumped change if you’ve checked in?
Thanks
Check in but do not get the boarding pass, you can then check the seat map and swap again if anything changes
The airport will almost certainly not move someone to accommodate you
You could try graciously asking on board but assuming this is old CW prepare for someone not to be willing to move out of the window, no way I would
To be a little harsh BA offers a seating pre selection service which you did choose not to use and this is the risk that comes with that.
Hopefully not too sour a note to start a trip and fingers crossed a nice solution is found!
Assuming you’re flying Thursday then seats 6B and 6J are the ones you are seeing I believe but 6E in the middle is also free but blocked. If you had 6B and 6J then maybe you do some swapping around to get two seats in the centre.
When check in opens you may see different seating as some is blocked by the system by BA dynamic allocation system
They’re still selling 2 X J seats so I don’t see a risk of being bumped or downgraded

That’s correct 6B and 6J
