Hi Guys,
TP collection year end is 8th June and I’ll be Gold by that point. Wife is pregnant and the due date is in August. Clearly we won’t be able to fly as much and therefore the status extension is exactly what I need. I’ve read somewhere that because of the 25% reduced TP requirements, BA are NOT providing the maternity / paternity extensions. Obviously the 25% reductions will end on 31/12 and my membership year goes beyond this.
Does anybody have any practical real-world success or failure of the parental discretionary extension in recent weeks / months?
Thanks
So you’re currently (or will soon be) Gold until 31 July 2023.
Apply for the baby extension on 9 June 2023 and if granted, you will remain Gold until 31 July 2025.
If you apply before 8 June 2023, you’ll only get it until 31 July 2024.
If you don’t mind being silver, you can even wait until 9 June 2024 to apply and if successful you will be silver until 31 July 2026, so no unnecessary paying for BA flights for 4 years.
