I currently have an AMEX gold, coming up to the end of the free first year in September. I am thinking of switching to the BAPP card to try to get the companion voucher as planning a big trip in 2027. However I’ve seen that sometimes there is a limited time offer of 60k avios sign up as opposed to the usual 30k late summer time. Would it be worth waiting until September to see if this offer comes up again or is it unlikely?
Is there someone who can refer you (or Rob/Rhys would probably be happy to)? Sometimes there’s a much higher offer than the standard one via that route. I recently got a new gold card with a 35k SUB if my OH referred me.

If you aren’t in a hurry, it seems quite likely that another of the 60k type offers will turn up in the next month or so – they had one in Aug/Sep 2023 and 2024. If they do, you need to be careful to apply via the right link in order to make sure you get the enhanced SUB rather than the standard one. We are probably due an annual fee increase fairly soon, so there’s a small risk this could coincide with an enhanced offer.

It’s not so much that one is ‘due’ but that one seems more likely than not. The last one wasn’t as long ago as two years – the one from from £250 to £300 was in April 2024 and the increase from £195 to £250 was in September 2021.
