I’m not sure if this has been asked before, but I have a voucher I need to use before the end of April.
Redemption option is basically one and quite poor: NAP-LHR for two, saving 20,000 avios. I was wondering though, could I call BA up and get them to add the outbound (LHR-NAP) even though hubby and I are travelling on two different days?
How can I maximise this redemption, ideally trying to save 20,000 x2 avios?
Thank you!
Everyone on the same ticket has to do the same thing in terms of same flight and cabin etc

No, both passengers must travel on the same flights for the whole itinerary.
It wouldn’t be worth using the voucher to halve the cost of avios on a return ticket just for one passenger, right? It would save the same amount of avios, correct?
Slightly simplified but you have another 12 months to fly the inbound after you take the outbound, so you could use it on a future trip.
I used an expiring voucher from the pandemic to fly to GIB, then 10 months later flew the “inbound” home from AGP on another trip.
I’ll need to see if I can make it work. It’s the outbound that is split, not the inbound… it would be so much easier, but we can’t fly together on the way out. I’ll think about it! Thank you all
Yes, I understood that. The return flight can be the “outbound” leg of a 241 booking now, you don’t have to start the trip in the U.K. So you could book the return leg for both of you, then within the next year use the other half of the voucher for another trip, compliant with the open jaw rules if you’re going somewhere different.

Oh really? I thought the outbound on a 2-4-1 voucher had to be from the UK not to. Ok then, will look into that. Thank you!
@VinZ, every day is a school day on HFP! Glad you managed to use your voucher.
