Good afternoon. Trying to get a ‘straight answer’ from Barclaycard is impossible so I have come to the best source of info HFP readers.
I currently have the non fee Barclaycard Avios, I have asked to upgrade to the fee paying card, which when I opted for the paid card said ‘ Spend £3000 in 3 months, get 5000 Avios’. My question is I will be earning 1.5 points to the £ so I will earn 4500 points through spending £3000 so do I get the 5000 ‘ sign up’ points in addition or is it really just 500 points in reality? The 5K avios have got to be a bonus – a £3k spend will normally net you 4.5K. So you should get 9.5K points in total (though at that point I’d be tempted to push for another upgrade voucher).
If you dig out Rob’s article on the avios Barclaycard, I think it covers the bonus avios for upgrading.
Hi Northrrnlass,I did but this is an addition to it so thought I would ask as a seperate question. My belief is it should be 9.5 k points in total, I will have to wait and see! Thanks
