Received a new card from Barclays last month – Avios Plus. Suddenly got hit with interest in this months statement for Amex Cc payment via Curve fronted. Haven’t had any issues/charges at all before this for years. Has BC now gone the way of Virgin?
Only saw this thread after replying to your double post elsewhere. Answers better under this thread I think.
Just to check one thing? Definitely interest – not a cash withdrawal fee ?!
Remains odd though. And potentially a little worrying. Also not sure why a new card would trigger it – may be a coincidence
Definitely not gone over your fronted allowance and been charged by Curve?
Not been charged by Curve. May be related to new BA+ card but rather than rile anyone further I’ll let this topic lie until anyone else reports a charge in their next statement.

This doesn’t quite make sense, because unlike most card issuers Barclaycard don’t charge interest on cash transactions from the transaction date, you get the same interest free period as you do for purchases. If you have an interest charge on your current statement that implies it’s something from the previous month.
If a Curve fronted transaction was being treated as cash there would be a cash handling fee.
Interest free period: Maximum 56 days from date of new transaction – (including new purchases and cash withdrawals) if you pay your main balance in full and on time each month.
