Barclaycard plus: changing to standard card

I already requested in app To change from barclay avios plus card to standard avios on 21st August, it is still showing my plus card and saying the new card will arrive after 4th Sept when my statement is due. My question, will I be charged on 4th for avios plus card? as I already requested them to downgrade to standard one? Thanks

When I downgraded, I was charged the fee but they refunded it after I contacted them

From my experience, yes you will be charged but then automatically refunded when the next statement is generated at which point your card will also switch to regular.
