Hi
Mrs B opened BC+ in December-Never had one before.
Acheived £3k spend mid December.
No bonus avios posted on Jan 3rd, spend for December did post.
in chat with BC and they say she has to KEEP the CARD for 3 months beofre the bonus posts.
Nothing in the T&C’s says that, sounds likke BS to me, ules I’ve missed something?
Still talking to them.
Anyone else had this “experience” ?
I took the card in 2022 when there was a 50k offer on. I hit the spend before my 2nd monthly transfer to BAEC, and the bonus posted fine. I hit the £10k spend soon after, and was planning to downgrade, but then the 100k avios offer came up, and kept it for another 5 months until the 100k posted.
Although, there were times when my previous months’ avios did not transfer on time, and they were sent the following month.
@Blindman67 – what did it say during your wife’s “application journey”? The terms don’t specify when the welcome bonus will get paid, so they have some flex unless they specified something during the application process although in practice, historically they have paid upon hitting the spend rather than at 3 months. The welcome bonus is separate from the ordinary Avios earning but if it has been credited this month for transfer at the beginning of Feb, it will show in the app as pending.
PS – when you say there’s nothing in the terms, obviously there’s a difference between requiring you to keep the card for three months and them only paying the bonus after three months.

No AVIOS are pending
Avios Welcome Bonus
3.1 If we tell you, you’re eligible to receive an Avios Welcome Bonus, you can earn this by reaching the qualifying
spend amount for your card within a set amount of time. We’ll tell you the qualifying spend amount and the
time period during the application journey. You’ll also be able to see this information in the Barclaycard Avios
FAQs section of the Barclaycard or Barclays App and the Barclaycard or Barclays website. Any refunds that
are applied to your card account before you reach the qualifying spend amount will be taken into account for
this purpose. Once you reach the qualifying spend amount, any refunds that are applied to your card account
won’t affect your eligibility for the Avios Welcome Bonus. The Avios Welcome Bonus will be added to your BAEC
account on the second working day of the following month.Last post disappeared

There is no condition that states the bonus is awarded AFTER 3 months. Just that the qualifying spend of £3000 has to be within 3 months.
The “Chat” bod is making up rules as he\she goes along and has confessed they are not the Expert-but can’t connect me to one…..
I rang them up and got authority from Mrs B to talk about her card.
Supposedly the Bonus points will post on the next Statement-So Feb
We shall see….
I think be patient. Barclays and Amex are not necessarily known for sniper like precision. You’ll get your points in Feb. A small complaint to them will gather a month’s fee so no worries.
hi , no bonus or avios posted after last year’s spending . What’s the best way to contact Barclays for this issue? The advisor on the app was pretty rubbish. Thanks!
@Blindman67 I had a similar issue with the Barclays Avios Upgrade Voucher after hitting the bonus limit. I’d signed up when the 100k bonus was in place but then we signed up the husband so we could get the upgrade voucher for him too. I didn’t ever have to select options but what has changed now is that you need to select your choice of upgrade voucher or 7000 avios in the app then your choice lands a few days later. Hope this helps but if not feel free to ignore. I spoke to so many people at Barclays on the chat & phone and not one member of staff could tell me this is what I needed to do.
