Barclays Premier changes: AppleTV & MLS Season Pass subs now included + more

I haven’t seen this posted here but since 18th June it seems AppleTV+ and more is included with Barclay’s premier:

Just tried activating the Apple TV+ benefit in the app (Products -> Premier Banking -> Apple TV+) and it went through within a minute or two.

(Note this appears to be a full subscription, not just a 5 month trial like Barclays were offering a while back.)

@JosephH – thank you. That’s a good spot – we only recently signed up to watch Slow Horses. Quite a useful extra benefit on the Premier/Avios Rewards which already pays for itself anyway before this.

I have Barclays Premier linked to Avios but it wants me join Blue rewards at £5 a month to get Apple TV. Is that correct?

@qc Mine didn’t ask for that, I wasn’t sure it had gone through but when I check my subscriptions it says AppleTV+ subscribed through Barclays. Blue rewards would exclude you from Avios so I’m hoping that hasn’t happened.

Yes – that’s the way I was trying to get it but it tells me ‘Available with Blue Rewards Upgrade to access’

However I’m one of those whose account is going to be downgraded as I don’t meet the criteria for Premier Banking. I’m still getting the Avios and the refund of £5 though.

Great catch thanks! Only just seen my month’s sub go out today as I forgot to cancel yesterday. I wonder whether having it applied today will trigger a refund..

And +1 to everybody recommending slow horses. I really got into the books and think by and large the TV adaptation has done a good job.

I’m switching to Barclays mainly due to the included Apple TV+ benefit, although the £175 switching bonus is a welcome benefit too. Personally Barclays current accounts were never on my radar previously.
